PM MITRA Scheme to Setup Mega Integrated Textile Parks 2021

PM MITRA Scheme: PM MITRA scheme has been launched by the union with the cost of Rs 4,445 crore and Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile Design. After the launch of this scheme, the cabinet gave its nod to set up 7 Mega Integrated Textile Parks throughout the country. Addressing the media, Union Minister of State for Finance, Shri Anurag Thakur and Minister of Textiles, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Shri Piyush Goyal said that this type of scheme will greatly be helpful for the people who are seeking the employment and it will also be greatly beneficial for attracting the investment.

What is the PM Mitra Scheme of the Central Government?

Pradhanmantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel scheme is basically launched for the promotion of the textile industry in the country. Under the specific scheme, 7 Mega Integrated Textile parks will be set up. Investment under the Pradhan Mantri MITRA scheme will be applicable for a period of five years only. The establishment of Mega integrated Textile park will be done under the public-private partnership program. While launching this scheme, the Union Textile Minister said that 10 states have already shown interest in the specific scheme while talks are also going on with the other Chief Ministers of the remaining states.

PM MITRA Scheme

Ten states that will participate primarily in the PM Mitra scheme are Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Telangana. Minister also added that the direct employment of 7 lakh people and indirect employment of 14 lakh people will also be generated from the PM Mitra scheme.

PM Mitra Scheme Mega Integrated Textile Parks

The government will spend 500 crores on every Greenfield Park while 200 crores will be spent for the brownfield Park. Besides, in the establishment of PM Mitra scheme Park, Rs 300 crore will also be provided as Competitive Incentive Support (CIS). Park established under the PM Mitra scheme will cover around 50% area for the Pure Manufacturing purpose while 20% of the area for Utilities and 10% for the Commercial Development. In these parks, facilities like housing, hotels, warehousing, Logistics parks, training medical, and skill development will also be provided.

In the establishment of the textile parks, the state government will also provide support for 1000 acre land so that state-of-the-art infrastructure can be developed in our country and we can complete other world-class industrial parks of various countries.
